2-3 Day Behavior-Based CQB for Patrol, Gang, and Small Unit Responders Course
The Behavior-based method of CQB was developed to provide personnel with one basic, principle-based method of searching and stronghold entry suitable for everyday patrol operations up to and including “High risk” missions. It is a battle-tested, hybrid American-Israeli system that is unique from traditional Dynamic Entry methods.
The BBCQB is a Limited Penetration system that allows the individual operator to clear the structure sequentially by capitalizing on the geometry, cover, and concealment inside of the stronghold. Using a segmented search approach allows the individual and or small units to be able to process information more effectively, as opposed to being forced to process everything at once due to forced entry into a room.
This offers significant advantages to the operator(s), including prioritizing threats and the ability to engage them from outside the room. Callout options and the ability to withdraw from the room if the Initiative has been lost and operators need to be extracted. It offers users the ability to aggressively attack the corners and set up triangulation of fire on the threat(s), minimizing the one-on-one gunfight.
The same basic principles and techniques are used at varying speeds to deal with all types of close-quarter battle situations: deliberate, dynamic, stealth, and hostage rescue. It is suitable for solo operators, small teams, and multi-team operations and is currently in use by U.S. and foreign Special Forces, domestic SWAT teams, and even basic training academies. It is highly adaptable to live fire, Sim/UTM, and integrated combative scenarios due to its foundation being based on human behavior and our response to stress and perceived threats.
This course is designed for officers assigned to Patrol, Gang, Warrant Service, and SWAT team members who may find themselves responding to situations that require ‘ad hoc’ teams to take decisive action with minimal assets and personnel and are rapidly deteriorating and high risk in nature. It is completely adaptable to full-time and part-time special operations teams for a wide variety of missions.
